Cold Heading Quality (CHQ) Wires is a kind of steel wire that is manufactured by drawing and annealing wire rods. CHQ wires are typically used for making critical fasteners, cold heading and cold extrusion components.
The major applications of CHQ wire include Fasteners, Cold Forged Parts, Bearings, production of coupling parts such as bolts, nuts, and small screws, and parts for machines.
The manufacturing of the Cold Heading Quality (CHQ) Wires involves two important process named

Diameter: 1.2mm – 32.0mm
Application: For Cold Heading or Cold Forging for making various fasteners such as screw, self-clinching nut, bolts, studs, nail & rivet for use in automobile, defence, construction, general engineering, electronics & aerospace industry.
Packaging: In 100 – 2500Kgs weight coils wrapped with stretch film and HDPE with proper identification tags or on carriers (formers) in coil weights from 1000 – 2500Kgs.

CHQ 1008 Alloy steel wire is widely used because of its formability, durability, and weldability. Processing through cold drawing or cold rolling improves the yield strength and hardness of the material.it is used in extruded, cold headed, cold upset, and cold pressed parts and forms.
CHQ 1010 wires are used for applications such as cold headed fasteners and bolts.

1015 wires are used for forged motor shafts, hydraulic shafts and pump shafts, as well as machinery parts. They would be used for such applications in a surface-hardened condition.
1018 wires provides high surface hardness and a soft core to parts that include worms, dogs, pins, liners, machinery parts, special bolts, ratchets, chain pins, oil tool slips, tie rods, anchor pins, studs etc. It is used to improve drilling, machining, threading and punching processes.
1020 wires used to make truck, automotive and agricultural equipment parts such as axles, mechanical parts, cold head bolts, motor shafts, pump shafts, ratchet, light gear, gear drives, worm gear, spindle, seat bracket, crane-cable drum, motor-brake wheel, etc.
1022 wires are used to easily fabricate into self-drilling tapping screws, which are widely used for construction works. The majority of carbonitriding activity is performed to improve the wear resistance without affecting the soft, tough interior of the screws in self-drilling operation.
